| John and I both grew up in Tidewater Virginia. My father loved the water and fished with a net. I remember going clamming when I was a child and riding in his boat on Sunday afternoons. So, I guess this is a tribute to him. The topper is made of a piled up fish net and greenery similar to cattails. The ornaments are reminiscent of the area when we were children: boats, fishermen, oystermen, crabs, sailboats, life preservers, beach bags, sand pails, and fish. The garland is strung with bouys, the spiky filler reminds me of marsh grass, Santa rides in a fishing boat and the skirt is sand-colored fabric. |
