| Hi! Welcome to my page. I'm Biscuit, and I'm one lucky cat to be here. It all started a couple of years ago. I started coming around here because it was quiet and there were nice decks to hide under. I was homeless, bedraggled, and thin, and I don't really know how old I am. Probably about 3 years old, I'm told. The nice people in the house started leaving food out for me. The only problem was there was a raccoon that kept stealing my food, but I got a lot of it. Then I sort of drifted away until early summer 2002. That's when my luck changed. I remembered how nice this place was and started coming around again. The nice people started leaving food out for me again. This went on throughout the summer and I spent lots of time on their front porch in the sun. The nice people tried to pet me several times and I finally let them. It felt SO nice to have someone to love me. I'm so glad I let them pet me because the nice people ended up being my Mom and Poppa. Did I mention I was going to have kittens when they took me in? On September 18, 2002, Mom lured me into their sun porch with tuna. At first I felt betrayed and tried to get out. Then I accepted my fate and hid under some furniture. But Mom wouldn't give up on me. She talked to me and I finally let her pet me again. Mom and Poppa set up a wonderful birthing box and nursery for me and my future babies and talked about finding good homes for my babies. They fed me really good food and loved me and petted me and made me feel safe. I'd never felt safe before. I'd always had to scrounge around for food and dodge cars and mean people and dogs and other cats. Now I didn't have to do any of that. I could have my babies in comfort and safety. On October 4 and 5, 2002, I had my kittens. Mom and Poppa stayed with me the whole time, and petted me and talked to me and held my paw. I really appreciated that. I had four beautiful little babies that are my pride and joy. Two days later I had another baby that had already gone to the Rainbow Bridge. Poppa buried it beside their Bridge kitty, Fritz. I was sad, but my other babies kept me really busy. They're good kittens but can still be a pawful sometimes. Mom and Poppa say I am the best little mama. As soon as they could, Mom and Poppa had me spayed. They didn't want me to have any more kittens. They had decided to keep me inside with their other kitties, but they had me tested for any diseases first so their other kitties wouldn't be in any danger. They eventually decided to keep all of my babies because they are so sweet they couldn't let them go. They were all spayed and neutered, too--Mom and Poppy say that's best for kitties. So now all of us are inside--safe and sound with lots of good food and lots of love and lots of nice places to sleep. I am a happy kitty. I'm not thin anymore and Mom says I'm gorgous. I try to show Mom how happy I am by following her around a lot and when she picks me up, I lay my head on her shoulder and purr. She seems to like that and calls me Sweet Biscuit or Bissy. |
