Although cats contribute a lot to the scheme of things in general, Hospital Cats play a very critical role as staff members of animal hospitals nationwide. Our most important contribution is that we provide a readily available blood supply: we are donors. During a patient's most critical hour, we are standing by to donate blood to a "crashing" or severely injured patient. We are an elite group of felines who fear NOTHING. Dogs barking in our faces, needles everywhere; our role is far too important to be frightened off by anyone or anything. We are "paid" with food, boarding, and unlimited state-of-the-art healthcare. Most and best of all we have an entire staff who thinks we are the most brave and amazing creatures in the world. Everyone on staff wants to claim us as their own. But we are our own. Kitty-Sitter is even more of a responsibility. Because I am the oldest I am in charge. I make sure Charlie kitty is fed and bathed
and gets plenty of exercise. Of course I have to make sure I get fed too. I could describe it in more detail but that would be a
novel. |

advice to my patients and friends. I am great for humans because they like to hold me and my purring has almost a magical
healing effect. After they have consulted me and held me they feel 100% better. It is a tough job, but someone's got to do it. |
