| Cats have been earning their living since ancient times,
from the banks of the Nile (where they were so valuable in preventing rodents from destroying the grain
supply that they were worshiped as gods) to medieval Europe (where they hunted the rats that were spreading
the plague). For centuries they have inspired paintings, stories, poems, even a hit Broadway musical. And the
cat is still hard at work today, whether patrolling for rodents, rearranging window displays, befriending
or chasing neighborhood dogs, providing comfort, or simply attracting attention. The purpose of W W W C W is to foster and promote the welfare of the working kitties of the world, to improve their working conditions, and to advance their opportunities for profitable employment. In carrying out this mission, W W W C W supports kitties' rights to safe and healthful working conditions, adequate compensation, freedom from employment discrimination, unemployment insurance, and workers' compensation. W W W C W also protects workers' pension rights and provides for job training programs. As W W W C W seeks to assist all kitties who need and want to work, special efforts are made to meet the unique job market problems of older workers, youths, minority groups, the handicapped, and other groups. If you want to be sure you receive adequate (and yes, even excessive) compensation, as is your due, then join World Wide Working Cats of the Web. W W W C W will help you negotiate a "Kitty Kontract" with your human underlings that will insure that you will enjoy unfair (you deserve better than just fair, don't you?) working conditions. |
